Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. We want to give some good reasons to consider a wedding video.
After many bridal shows and many discussions with soon-to-be-brides there are as many reasons some give for NOT having a video of their wedding as there are brides. For the most part people really don’t know EXACTLY what a wedding video is.
I have talked to people who were days away from getting married and were going to let a “friend of the family” run a camera. Some I have talked into getting one professionally done and NONE of them have regretted it. I have, on the other hand, heard many brides say they regretted not getting one. Once the event is over you cannot go back and recapture it, so it is really important to consider this option before your event is over.
You can’t always tell people on the front side what this will mean to them. They don’t realize the impact it will have on them when they are watching the event months after it has passed. I’ve asked brides who have just finished watching their video for the first time if I would have been able to tell them at the beginning that it would have the impact on them that it did. They all say they would not have believed how it effected them. The things you didn’t get to see, the people you forgot you talked to, the things you paid for but were to busy to even notice…are all captured and presented in an entertaining way.
You would never consider having a wedding without a photographer, and you should always have one. We are not in competition with photographers, our craft is very different. You cannot hang a video or put one in your wallet. But you can’t HEAR a picture or capture the essence of the person in movement any other way like you can through video.
So many brides who only got a video because their mom wanted one have since come back and said that we gave them the best gift they received. One day when you have children, they will be able to see and HEAR you, the way you sounded and looked on the day you got married, as if they were there themselves.
I hope you don’t let the day you have spent so much time preparing for go by without taking that last bit of effort to capture it in living motion so that you will have it forever.
